The Upper Daintree River Cruise from Daintree Village is especially popular for bird watchers as it winds its way through dense rainforest and mangroves providing spectacular views of Thornton Peak. Watch exotic wading birds fossicking for a tasty feed amongst the exposed mudflaps whilst majestic Brahminy Kites look regally down from their perches high above.

Darting through the shallows you’ll see a vast array of waterlife as you get up close and personal with all the locals including the most awe inspiring, our big resident Salt Water Crocodiles basking themselves in the sun or gliding silently through the reeds.

Our Eco River Tour Guides are all local naturalists with a keen interest in the local environment and their passion for the flora and fauna of the Daintree River systems is reflected in their engaging and highly informative presentations on all cruises. Guides communicate with each other by radio to give  you the best opportunity on sightings of wildlife along the river.
